Download and Install Stock I717UCMD3 AT&T Galaxy Note I717 Jelly Bean Upgrade

Here’s the stock firmware I717UCMD3 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-I717 that can be use to manually install and upgrade the device if it’s rooted and can’t upgrade on Samsung Kies server. Installing the stock firmware will remove root from Galaxy Note i717 and restore to official firmware provided by Samsung and AT&T, but this is a winning situation, if you want Jelly Bean then surrender your root.  Just think of rooting again after your device tastes the  Jelly Bean upgrade for now.

  1. Thank’s a lot! I already upgraded mine, it was stuck on AT&T screen for a while but factory reset did the trick. Now, can you point me where can i find how to root this version?

    1. Yes, just install TWRP recovery and then flash SuperSU-v0.94 from the recovery option. Just Google it -> Root i717UCMD3

    1. Yes, this is the same device distributed by Telus, Bell and Rogers in Canada coded with model numbers SGH-i717D/M/R.
Just makes sure you device runs with Telus original firmware (ICS 4.0.4 I717DTLLF4) and not with custom ROM, it might result to unwanted issues.
Also copy Telus APN settings and then re-configure it later after installation. This firmware is set by default to AT&T’s network, you’ll lose Telus network service if the APN configurations points to AT&T.

If it doesn’t work well, you can simply revert back to stock ICS, stocks can be found here http://androidromupdate.com/2012/02/21/samsung-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-firmware-updates-list/

  2. Thanks. Installed smoothly. First boot stuck on att screen. Cured that by going to recovery and doing a factory wipe and rebooted. Also re-rooted easily using the method at this link androidayos(dot)com. Thanks again….

    1. Absolutely not, it’s the official firmware and not a custom that trip the binary flash counter.

  3. would this work if my AT&T Note is stuck on Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again? Im trying to find a fix for this issue. Would this install resolve my problem???

    1. Wiping does not solve this “problem” it is just setting the phone up even though it looks like it is dead. Give it a few minutes. I wiped mine a good 5 times and flashed it a second time before finally just leaving it alone and it came too.

  4. I have a bad charging port that I don’t want to mess with. Is it possible to install this from a micro sd card?

    1. UCMD3 is exactly 769.6MB in size. Maybe the download was been interrupted or caused by the server downtime issues.
      Here’s another link.

  5. Does this change the Kernel back to stock?

I need a stock kernel for Odin can’t find one online. Thanks.

    1. Stock kernel can be found inside the official firmware package. If you know how to pull it then grab the firmware.

  6. Mine gets stuck on Android is upgrading 0-90 and goes to a random number of around 60 then just restarts. Ive let it sit there and it just keeps rebooting. Im trying to fix the Imei Null/Null and people said Kies has helped them but when I used Kies and/or Odin to flash the Stock 4.1.2 thing I get a newer At&t splash but just stuck on android is upgarding and constant reboots.

    1. What ROM you been using before? it must have a modified kernel… find the precise stock kernel then flash it, then lastly flash the full firmware above.

  7. I got it secondhand and it had a Imei of Nfull/Null and its an AT&T Note SGH-I717. It could very possibly have some kind of hardware fault but im trying to fix it to show a signal and a baseband as its all nothing. Everything else seems to function correctly. I have tried many different roms but none seem to work. The UCLF6 stock atnt will work normal but no imei. Your method I am stuck on contact reboots with it upgrading apps. How can I find out what it was using?

    1. I went from stock I717 UCLF6 rom and flashed with Odin and then went to yours. But it does constant reboots upgrading apps when first booting. I tried Kies once but it got me stuck on ATnT logo. Your method got me past the logo using Odin with the above firmware.

Any other ideas? Im trying to fix IMEI Null/Null and diagnose if its a firmware issue or hardware issue. But I cannot seem to get off the Stock UCLF6 to be able to diagnose any further.
