But before you can get the update you need your device match the following criteria

  • Manual (via Samsung Kies)  update
  • Android version 2.3.6 / Software version T769UVLB7/T769UVLF4
  •  Device software is not rooted

If your Samsung Galaxy S Blaze is rooted then you will not be able to receive the update. The only option for that is by way of manual flashing – install using the T769UVLH5 ICS 4.0.4 stock ROM. You may loss root by doing this, but you can re-root again.

This will not trip the binary flash counter of your device since this is the original stock firmware. Upgrading using this method is just like updating from Kies since we are using the exact the same official firmware.

– Fully recharge your phone’s battery.

  1. The unfortunate thing is that once you upgrade it to 4.0.4 you cannot re-root the phone. If you do the phone will not go pass the Samsung start up screen, it will soft brick your phone.

  2. Hey. I just upgraded my blaze to ics, but the display features and app drawer looks entirely the same! There are no usual features of ICS, like the people app. What the hell is the point of this update then??!!
Is this how it is supposed to be or did i do something wrong??

    3. Are you sure you have a T-mobile Galaxy Blaze? It sounds to me that you might have the Latin American version and it wont worked..

  4. Working well. Thank you very much! No CWM..sorry for some people but what are you doing and spending your time is. Use always always or stock ROM.

  5. I’m pretty slow when it comes to getting up to speed on Android versions. Hope you’re still there to help me.
    I have the following criteria:
    MODEL: SGH-T769
    ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.6
    BASEBAND VERSION: T769UVLF5
    KERNEL VERSION: 2.6.35.11
My baseband is off by one digit. Can I still upgrade my phone to Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich? I would hate to ruin my phone. I love it but don’t want to invest in a new Smartphone at this time and would love to download newer apps that only work on ICS phones.

  6. if you are still there to help I was wondering if there are other links to download the original upgrade firmware?? the one above does not work
