U.S T-Mobile now starts rolling out the official Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-T879 with new baseband build T879UVMA1. Yes, it’s not yet Jelly Bean update folks! This is an update from earlier build 4.0.3 T879UVLG3″ or T879UVLF5 . This update provides security enhancements and improved user experience, according to T-Mobile support team.
Beginning February 4, the Samsung Galaxy Note will have a software update to Android version 4..0.4 / Baseband version T879UVMA1 via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update provides security enhancements and improved user experience.
You can update in two ways:
Over the air (OTA) update to T879UVMA1: T-Mobile will push the update to your device sometime between February 4 and February 8. We cannot expedite how soon we send the OTA to individuals. See below steps to manually request the OTA update.
Manual download to T879UVMA1: If you did not receive the OTA, or don’t want to wait for the OTA on your device, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. See http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version.

Those advance users who are rooted and installed with custom firmware and will not be able to receive any official update from Kies and OTA, you can still restore back your device to official stock or just grab the stock UVMA1 firmware.
