T-Mobile’ software update rolling for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889) and it’s still based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with software build numbers T889UVBMD1. This said update includes “security enhancements” and a new feature called “smart switch.” The security enhancements is all about system changes for users better protection of secured data from the device. We don’t have any idea what exactly this said Smart switch about, it might be a new additional apps by Samsung or either from T-Mobile.
The changelog itself tells us that there are none furthermore to expect. But this update is built with a new baseband version, and it brings some changes when it comes to data speed, connection stability and boost signal strength.
Beginning June 3, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will have a software update to Android version 4.1.2/ Software T889UVBMD1 via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update improves security and includes Smart switch.
You can update in two ways:
Over the air (OTA) update to T889UVBMD1: OTA push update is available as of 6/3/2013. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until June 17. The update is also available for manual update using Kies.
Manual download to T889UVBMD1: If you did not want to update via OTA, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. See http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version. via T-Mobile support
